The purpose of Bamboo Bridge is to provide a stable, safe, and structured home for homeless young adults, ages 18-21, who are enrolled in school, pursuing a trade or job. Bamboo Bridge, in partnership with other providers, is here to help young adults obtain necessary life skills and assistance to transition to a productive adult life in the community. In addition to a stable home, Bamboo Bridge provides educational and job placement assistance, mentoring programs, life skills, and other supportive ministries and community resources. Our goal is to provide a home that promotes spiritual, emotional, and physical healing and hope for the young adults that we serve.
We chose BAMBOO because it is strong, but flexible with incredible roots. We want to plant seeds in these young adults and give them the basic life skills and services they need to begin to grow strong roots. Bamboo takes a long time once planted to sprout which represents the patience, maturity, confidence, and independence we want them to gain to be successful adults.
​We chose the word BRIDGE because we hope to bridge the gap between childhood and adulthood and make it easier for these young adults to navigate through life.
